The fruit looks somewhat like a small grapefruit with an uneven skin, and can be either yellow or green depending on the degree of ripeness.Citrus junos or yuzu is a citrus fruit. The fruit belongs to the family Rutaceae.Yuzu is an evergreen shrub or small tree growing 2 - 7 metres tall. Yuzu fruits are very aromatic,mostly range between 5.5 cm and 7.5 cm in diameter. These fruits can be as large as a regular grapefruit .Yuzu forms an upright shrub or small tree. The plant bears many large thorns.The fruits have been used as a substitute of limon and lime.Leaves are notable for a large, leaf-like petiole and are heavily scented.Yuzu closely resembles sudachi in many regards. They share a similar mandarin-ichang papeda ancestry. There are differences in the flavour of the fruit though yuzu eventually ripen to an orange colour.This plant species is an important cold-resistant rootstock for other Citrus species.
