Ficus sycomorus is an angiosperm which belongs to the family moraceae and order rosales.The leaves of sycamore resemble those of the mulberry.Ficus sycomorus grows to 18 m tall. The tree is usually found in mixed woodlands and in rich soils along rivers.The leaves posses round apex and are heart shaped. The leaves are dark green above and lighter with notable yellow veins below.The petiole is found pubescent.The fruit is edible and large.The fruit when ripened becomes yellow to red . Sycamore are borne in thick clusters on long branchlets.The bark of sycamore exfoliates in papery strips.
