Boysenberry is the common name for a hybrid plant of the blackberry/raspberry genus Rubus .The boysenberry is a cross among the European raspberry , European blackberry , American dewberry and loganberry.It is an aggregate fruit.Boysenberries posses soft texture and large seeds.It has a sweet-tart flavor.The fruit is deep red in colour. Boysenberry is  a very large bramble fruit.It turns black when it ripes.The fruits are common during late May to early July season.It is rich in vitamin C and fiber which helps to reduce the risk of cancer.It also helps to lower cholesterol and maintain heart problem.The fruit is considered to be a rich source of anthocyanins, natural antioxidants which help to maintain healthy brain cells and protect against oxidative damage.Boysenberry is used for making part of jams, pies, syrups and, wine.
