Description
Trailing or creeping perennial herbs; stems thick and fleshy, reddish, rooting at some of the nodes, somewhat angled. Leaves spirally arranged, 7-12 x 10-17 mm, broadly reniform, occasionally suborbicular, the base subcordate with several filiform appendages on the margin, the apex obtuse, often apiculate, sparsely hairy above, glabrous beneath, green tinged with red; lateral veins 2-3 pairs, margin shallowly crenate; petiole slender, 9-21 mm long. Flowers solitary, axillary, bright yellow, the lower sepal with reddish-brown netted veins within; bracts linear- lanceolate, 2-3 mm long, inconspicuous. Pedicels slender, 21-42 mm long, glabrous or slightly pubescent. Lateral sepals ovate-oblong, 3.5-5 mm long, acuminate, with a few scattered hairs along the midrib usually. Lower sepal deeply navicular, 16-17 mm long, 11-12 mm deep, abruptly constricted into a 7-8 mm long, filiform spur which is incurved and somewhat swollen at the tip, sparsely to densely pubescent throughout. Dorsal petal cucullate, 9-14 x 8-11 mm, with a narrow crest above terminating in a short subobtuse point, pubescent in part. Lateral united petals 20-23 mm long; upper petal of each pair broadly oval or oblong, 16-17 mm long, 11-13 mm broad, entire; lower petal oblong in outline, 11-12.5 mm long, 8-9 mm broad, with an emargination along the inner margin towards the top. Ovary densely pubescent. Fruit fusiform, c. 11 mm long, 2.5 mm broad, pubescent.
