Description
Leaves are evergreen, lanceolate to ovate-Strobilanthes hamiltoniana bushshaped, slightly glossy, drooping, simple with serrate margins, 5 to 6 inches long with prominent secondary veins, and dark green in color.
The pinkish/purple flowers are tubular to bell-shaped, drooping, and are borne on long, well-branched inflorescences rising above the foliage. Primary bloom period is fall to winter.
Fruit are ½ to ¾ inch capsules that are green aging to dark purple.
