It grows natively in warm humid climates of Pakistan, India, Myanmar and Malaysia and belongs to the Fabaceae family. Ashoka is ever-green, slender but slow-growing flowering tree. It is easy-to-grow, easy-to-prune tree that flowers abundantly and produces a compact shaped canopy – an ideal candidate as a house-plant or a lawn tree.Here is one tree you can plant very close to the house – 3 feet out – provided it won t eventually grow into easements and gutters.When planting in rows to form a hedge, allow 4 or 5 feet between each tree.As a specimen you can plant 3 or 4 feet away from the nearest shrub.
