Description

Phyllostachys sulphurea is a tall bamboo with a straight habit. In his homeland he reaches heights of growth of up to 20 m, in Europe as an ornamental plant 4 to 7 m. This bamboo forms rhizomes , some varieties strong. He has strong stalks with a diameter of 4 to 8 cm. The sheaths are light brown and densely black spotted. The leaves are light green, sometimes pale yellow striped, 6 to 16 cm long and 1 to 2 cm wide, and form a dense foliage mass.
