Description
Tree, 4-20 m, not rarely poorly developed and with irregular crown, 10-35 cm ø; Leaves 20-50 cm long; Ovary elongate, brown stellate hairy, 1 cm, style 4 cm, ± exceeding longer stamens. Capsule subterete, pendulous, twisted, rusty by stellate hairs, 30-60 by lll2-2½ cm ø, the valves with 5 strong prominent ribs; Seeds variable in size in one capsule, c. 2½-3¾ by ¾-1¼ cm incl. the smallish wings.
